Another Month Down...

So today I'm OFFICIALLY 4 months pregnant with baby S! He/she is measuring 4-5 inches in length, hence the reason for my newly developed baby bump! The bones within the ears have formed which means he/she can hear my voice as I talk and sing (scary, I know)!

My check-up appointment this afternoon with Dr. Horlacher went great! Baby S has a healthy heart rate - 140 beats/minute! Could this mean a future baseball player is about to make his debut?!?! We'll see!!! I know statistically there is zero correlation between heart rates and gender, BUT it's fun to think about!

Our 20 week ultrasound appointment is scheduled for January 6 @ 9:30 AM. We can't wait!!!

Size of a Peach

Today I'm exactly 13 weeks and baby S is measuring the size of a peach!

To be totally honest, I wish I was feeling more peachy. With my pregnancy with Payton I felt AWESOME! This time around, I’ve been feeling/getting sick and now I have my second UTI during this pregnancy (which I guess can be common, but they suck!) I just wish I felt better so I could enjoy my pregnancy like I did the first time around. Fingers crossed things are about to change!

All in a Name

After finding out yesterday there's a 60% chance we're having another little girl Dave & I started brainstorming some girl names. This time around it was WAAYYY easier than deciding on Payton.

As I was flipping through the Pottery Barn Kids magazine I said "what about Alie?" Dave - "I like it!!!" So Alie Schindler it is (that's if the ultrasound technician is right)!

This morning, I googled the meaning of Alie. Alie stands for noble kind, which I think is PERFECT! Obviously I never researched Payton's name, as it means "settlement of Pœga" - HAHA! Sorry Payton!

12 weeks + 2 days

Head/Hand

Today is a GREAT day! Not only did I get to see my beautiful baby girl first thing when I woke up this morning, but I also got to see my other little one this morning too! What a miracle babies are!!!

Today was our first ultrasound appointment. I'm thrilled to announce our baby is healthy and continues to have a strong heartbeat - 156 beats/minute! By his/her size and development I'm measuring 12 weeks + 2 days, not 10 weeks - YAY!!! That's a BIG difference in pregnancy time! My official due date is now May 24, 2011.

From the ultrasound I got 6 pictures and 1 video. I've attached a few pictures. The ultrasound technician was even nice enough not to charge us for the $10 DVD! Gotta love freebies!!!

Since the reproductive organs just developed last week, the technician couldn't tell us exactly what we are having. However, if she HAD to guess there's a 60% chance we're having a GIRL! I'm not putting all my faith into her guess just yet because maybe "that part" wasn't completely developed and/or was hidden?!?!? Regardless, we'll just have to wait and see what God has in store for us! Either way, this is such an exciting time and we're praying for health above all else!

My next appointment is in 4 weeks - December 7 @ 1:30 p.m. As usual, I'll keep everyone updated!

Heartbeat

Today Dave & I had our 10 week appointment (or what we think is our 10th week).

Dr. Horlacher got called into an emergency c-section, so this morning we met with Dr. Wood instead. Super nice guy!!! Everything went great. However, because there it was so easy to locate the heartbeat and it was so high Dr. Wood recommended us having an ultrasound done this Thursday (11/11/10 @ 10:30 AM) because he believes it’s possible I’m a little further along than 10 weeks. As always, we’ll keep everyone posted! :)

Click the play button below & turn up your volume to hear the heartbeat/comments! :)

10 Weeks

Yes, it's been FOREVER since I've blogged last. Time has just slipped away from me and since I've been going to bed around 8:00 PM every night it doesn't leave much time in my day for blogging. Hopefully once my first trimester is behind me, I'll have more energy and feel like doing a little more.

I'm really excited for my 10 week appointment with Dr. Horlacher tomorrow morning. Dave & I will get to hear our baby's heartbeat - it's one of the best sounds in the world (besides Payton telling us she loves us)!

Stay tuned!

The First of Many...

Yesterday was my first Dr. appointment at Dr. Horlacher's office. Personally, I found it to be a little routine, as we discussed family history. As usual, Dave had no shortage of jokes regarding the medical history on my side of the family, but at least the nurse was amused!

Next appointment (November 9), will be a lot more interesting as we'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat! I can't wait!!!
